Food for Kids
We care about our kid’s health – they don’t. With luck, your child has not experienced ill-health to understand or care about the significance of the word. Too often when a child refuses food, we respond “Eat it, it’s healthy”, and from there on the label “healthy” is attached to something they don’t like to eat.
Most women, from the moment the test results return positive, modify their eating and drinking behaviour. The food we eat effects the developing foetus, and what your child eats as a toddler effects every aspect of its natural growth and health - in the short and long term. Building a solid foundation for healthy growth and development through fresh natural food is as great a gift as life itself.
At Nick Jr we'll show you how to prepare scrumptious, quick and easy meals that are great for mums and dads (and grandparents, aunts and uncles, everyone, really!) as well as growing babes and busy toddlers. We’ll tell you what foods are currently in season and have recipes to match. You’ll find plenty of tips to help out with anything from saving time to keeping the pennies in your pocket, and we’ll be asking what tricks you use to make good food faster, more fun and even easier!
What you teach your child during the early years will carry throughout their lives.
The first thing to realise is that this is not an ideal world and we can’t get it right all the time. Children are resilient. We start off with the best intentions, wanting to do everything perfectly. With the busy lives we lead today that’s not always possible and sometimes you may have to compromise.
We’re here to help you make the best choices, from reading food labels at the supermarket to making meals in minutes. You’ll find recipes for weaning babies, meals and snacks your toddler will want to eat and energising, fast foods for you. Enjoy!
