We’re all meant to eat 2 pieces of fruit and 5 serves of veggies per day (1/2 cup being one serve) – but two-thirds of parents find this difficult – here’s some tips to help get kids munching and crunching on fruit & veggies in no time.

  • Get your kids to help you choose the veggies at the supermarket, they can see which ones they have not tried
  • Make healthy food easy and fun – cut fruit into easy to eat bite size pieces and make silly faces out of the fruit or veggies on the plate.
  • Let kids in the kitchen to help in meal preparation – it helps build trust and respect for their food.
  • Get the whole family involved, kids will think fruit and veggies must be ok if everyone is eating them.
  • Grow some veggies in the garden – they’ll love watching the food grow and enjoy eating their own produce.
